Author's note: Originally posted on Chenpionships. A huge thank you to the prompter for this wonderful prompt! I fell in love with it instantly and was desperate to read Banana Yoshimoto’s book. Sadly, my ebook copy of Asleep will only arrive in September so I wasn’t able to read it before I began writing this fic. I couldn't work in elements of the novel like I wanted to but I hope you’ll like the story, anyway! Last but not least, my love to Ansa for letting me ramble on about this fic at inconvenient times and for just being the most wonderful friend in general ❀ and to lovely Ezrae for helping me get closer to the finish line ❀

I already commented but I forgot things grumpy face and I'm pretty sure I'm stil forgetting things I wanted to say but one big thing was I LOVED THE SONG okay Radiohead somehow fits Jongdae perfectly and I can imagine him with a voice that's a little muffled from lying down on the bed next to Jongin, the storm outside and everything is perfect because it's not perfect. Some people can't sleep and some people have trauma but the words are still pretty anyway.

Like fractal scars. They can be a mark of shame, or they can be lightning flowers. You choose.
