Spring was still thin in the air and Joonmyun had never liked the cold much so he was grateful for the warmth his black leather jacket gave him. Taking another languid drag on his cigarette, he watched the paper glow bright with vermilion embers.

holy heck. i think this might have been one of my favourite things ever written by you. i just. WOW. i cried a lot??? my chest started aching at "it's not like you haven't tasted..." and it kept aching more and more until i had wet cheeks, right around "jongin wants me. he loves me." AND THEN I COULDN'T STOP??? i don't know why this affected me so much, but i was a little wibbling mess. Jongin's "aren't you happy for me?" destroyed me. UGH. i adored joonmyun's parts, the way he just needed jongin and how lost and broken without him. your language was so emotive, i don't even know how to explain it. and you're always so perfectly descriptive. fantastic. and jongin's parts were amazing, too. he just loved so purely, and so completely. he didn't care about joonmyun's record, because he saw beneath that, and it was beautiful. ugh. i loved it, seriously. and i'm such a sucker for musically talented characters i'm *-* i fell in love with jongin tbh. him whispering his secrets to no one...that killed me, too. my poor baby ;;;;

kyungsoo the secret violinist was such a highlight of this fic LOL i just died. i'd love to read about HIS story ;D

and i'm so so happy they were able to put everything behind them and that they're going to be together in New York just. BLESS. i'm so happy that they're happy, and the fact that i felt so strongly about these characters from such a short fic was a testament to your writing talent, i think. they're so in love and it makes me so happy. <3 bravo, adele!! i simultaneously wanted it to be longer and thought it was ridiculously perfect as is.

I really love how you made Joonmyun a delinquent here, but somewhat still staying true with (what I suppose) his real life character? It is very refreshing.

Joonmyun looked so greaser in this pic and the MV didn't he? I kinda loved it lol - it's such a departure from his usual image and when I saw that photo card my heart and brain went into overdrive and I HAVE TO WRITE THIS JOONMYUN BC HE IS ACTUALLY PERFECT!

Oh the irony. Considering I'm sitting here with tears running down my face and I can't even tell if they're still from all the heartbreak in the middle or happy tears because beautiful ending is so damn beautiful ;____;

I tell you every time how much I love your writing, how powerful it is when it comes to conveying emotions and putting all these wonderful pictures in my head, but this time was just... wow. I think you just did the (seemingly) impossible and got even better. Every single sentence - every single one! - just made me feel something and my inside was a mess of all these contradicting emotions and omg Adele this was amazing!
The bond between Sukai was just so strong and you could feel it with all of their interactions and even later when they were no longer speaking to each other. The mutual yearning was practically radiating off the screen and it made my chest feel all achey and heavy and I seriously just wanted to scream at them! JUST COME TO YOUR SENSES YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY SO HOPELESSLY IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS DAMMIT JOONMYUN STOP TRYING TO DO THE SELFLESS THING HERE JUST GET BACK TOGETHER I NEED IT FOR MY SANITY
I was feeling very vulnerable from the moment I started reading, but when Jongin confessed to Joonmyun about telling his secrets to the darkness at night bc Joonmyun was no longer there I just... lost it. Tears and more tears and goddammit that hurt so much, but it was also bittersweet because it was so obvious Jongin never gave up on them, held onto his feelings for Joonmyun BECAUSE HE LOVED HIM SO MUCH T_____T
I just immediately fell for shy, talented Jongin and of course I couldn't help but fall for Joonmyun as well. He treasured Jongin so much, loved him so unconditionally, and he was just trying to do the right thing. EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T AND CAUSED US ALL SO MUCH PAIN BUT I'LL FORGIVE YOU BECAUSE YOU FIXED IT IN THE END
And it just broke my heart when he made himself call Jongin 'the boy' in his own mind, but at the same time he applied to colleges in New York, definitely thinking about staying at Jongin's side and all the mutual love in this just has me very VERY emotional! /sobs

Seriously Adele, the only reason I made it through with my heart intact was because I knew I could trust you to give them the happy ending they deserved!

And yes I loved Grandpa Xing so much! What a sweetheart! His and Joonmyun's relationship was so touching, I could feel the love between them and ;______; And omg I laughed so much at the image of old geezers XingXiuDae getting competitive over bowling xD Thank you for the few light-hearted moments inbetween. THEY WERE DESPERATELY NEEDED!

Delinquent Myeon is just... wow. I did think of a greaser when I saw that look on him but you really took that concept places. A high school delinquent is a perfect concept for that look! ^^

Grandpas XiuXingChen sound awesome, like I'd totally want to watch them do their thing at the bowling alley. :D Same with a-hole violinist Soo, he's gotta be an interesting character.

I love how Joonmyeon had been fighting for Jongin all that time even though he stayed away for him. Doing well enough in school so he can move to NYC with Jongin and be together again~ Joonmyeon, you hardworking romantic, you. ^^ The way Jongin never stopped loving him or caring about him really struck me in the feels. He'd have to really be in love to suffer through all his lessons with Soo. :D

i just knew from the moment i read the summary that i was going to love this fic (i'm a sucker for school!au's and anything where jm is a delinquent is Very Important to me BC THE IMAGESSSSSSSS) and i was right bc i really FELT while reading this... i loved how even tho jm is a delinquent, he still so clearly cares for jongin and his grandpa who i can't believe is yixing btw and that brief mention of chenmin lmao to the point where he's willing to give up jongin bc he think it's better for jongin's future and just uuugggghhhh EMOTIONS. i'm so glad it worked out in the end and that little bit of ksoo being the student from hell was beautiful (also cy as a discipline teacher??? BEAGLE LINE CHANYEOL????? perfect tbh).

not because it's sad (though it is sad with the sweetest kind of longing like the hint of summer rain evaporating from the pavement)

but it's so rewarding at the end

the sense of space and the way they fit together is so lovely expressed

Towards the end it became a bit cheesy, and yet who doesnt love a happy ending? And how is it that Jongin's mother is yet again an overbearing one? Goodness. Speaking of overbearing, Park Chanyeol the disciplinarian, I mock thee! Oh, and I loved that Yixing was the grandfather, that was a suprising twist, though I must say he does fit the bill.
