Jongin usually sees the delivery boy's face as soon as he opens the door, but today he's met with a chin and a pair of generous lips he doesn't recognize.

like jongin is so precious with his folding of cranes to wish for his noona to stop crying/hurting but then we have the pabo aka chanyeol who is also too precious for words. this whole fic is just too precious for words.
the whole chanyeol stumbling over himself because hes smitten with jongin and jongin trying to deny chanyeols endearing ways and the whole.. kimchi trade for memory loss was just perfect.. this is perf and you are perf and though i am slowly starting to get into chankai.. theyre not like top ship but im like rolling around squealing like a fox during mating season.
okies. im sorry.. ill try to get better at commenting.. but idek how to.. i just go all incoherent and babble.
but i thoroughly enjoyed this fic. great work, as always. //a vajillion thumbs up ^^

I am glad that Chanyeol could win Jongin's heart in spite of Jongin's strong standpoint about love. Chanyeol will make Jongin the happiest person in the world. I am sure. Oh gosh, I wanna cry again. This is awesome!

First of all, I really like how the fic is framed into sections. While the structure is very mmm rigid, in a sense, I can see how it reflects in Jongin's personality. I have to admit--Jongin /is/ boring here. But more than that I see him a cautious, and very much afraid to fall in love. It's endearing. And he has a valid reason for being like that--which makes his character very... hm, relateable? I mean we all have some bad experiences that shape us to be prickly cautcautious bats and there are some that we learn through the experience of others. This just makes Jongin a very loyal and pure person. I totally see him as the cynic who is actually very pure hearted--the type to love hard once he finds someone worthy for his affections. Am I right?
Chanyeol, on the other hand, is just so enthusiastic. I think my favorite line that describes him would be "Chanyeol is life." And he is. Again this reflects on what he does (horticulture? lol). His character is very refteshing and colorful and just lively. He would definitely add the needed color in Jongin's carefully structured life.
I'm pretty sure this structure is not coincidental. Brilliant framing though.

Date: 2015-02-17 06:35 pm (UTC)the rigid structure you mentioned is basically a reflection of Jongin's need to divide his life into routine blocks of predictability - because predictability means his life will be free of hearbreak and emotional excess. this poor, deprived, boring ass man LOL. it's a good thing Chanyeol decides to save him and pour Eggs Ben and life and color into his monochrome life! i took a while to decide on Chanyeol's profession but in the end, i thought horticulture would be perfect bc it suits his outdoor personality, and also, he seems like someone who likes to see things grow (including this repressed older man he's taken a shine to :))
